Getting Started with TickForge
TickForge is a modern desktop market-data terminal for Interactive Brokers. This guide gives you the quickest path from download to your first chart.
What you need
Before you start, make sure you have:
- An Interactive Brokers account (live or paper).
- TWS or IB Gateway installed and running, with the API enabled.
- Market-data subscriptions for the symbols you want to watch.
First launch
When you open TickForge for the first time, the onboarding wizard walks you through connecting to TWS or IB Gateway and seeds a starter layout so you have something on screen right away.
Connecting to IBKR
TickForge talks to the already-authenticated TWS or IB Gateway session running on your own machine. You sign in to Interactive Brokers in TWS; TickForge never asks for your broker credentials.
Your first workspace
Open a scanner, drop a chart next to it, and link them with a color group so a click in one updates the other. Your layout is restored exactly as you left it on the next launch.
Where to next
- Installation — set up TWS / IB Gateway and your market-data subscriptions.
